Former Westmeath star Dessie Dolan expects Kerry manager Jack O’Connor to sharpen the knife for his side’s Allianz League showdown against Dublin at Croke Park tomorrow evening (7pm).

The All-Ireland champions have three points from three outings thus far in Division 1 and are set to come up against a Dubs side which earned their first points of the campaign last weekend.

Speaking on the RTE GAA podcast this week, 2004 All-Star winner Dolan says he expects to see more stars in the Kingdom’s pack at headquarters against their old foes this weekend than in previous rounds.

"Jack O’Connor, what’s his mindset coming into this game?" the ex-Westmeath boss asked.

"Roughly you’re talking five, six, seven of last July’s All-Ireland starters have started all the games.

"Interestingly the David Clifford one when they were going up to (Ballyshannon v Donegal), they didn’t bring him.

"Heading to Croke Park, I don’t think Kerry teams ever like losing in Croke Park so I think he might sharpen the knife a little bit, bulk up with a little bit of quality."
