Nenagh CBS are Dr Harty Cup champions for the second time in three seasons after a 0-20 to 0-18 victory over St Flannan’s College, Ennis at Zimmer Biomet Páirc Chíosóg this afternoon.
Eoghan Doughan shot a dozen points in a ‘Man of the Match’ display for the Tipperary side as they edged out their Clare counterparts at the Ennis venue where 6,909 fans were in attendance.
A slow start saw Nenagh trailing by 0-8 to 0-3 before their captain Doughan got them motoring and the sides would eventually go in all square (0-11 to 0-11) at the break.

Darragh McNamara nudged St Flannan’s ahead again early in the second-half, but Doughan and Joe O’Dwyer raised white flags at the other end afterwards and Doughan’s 10th point put the would-be winners two to the good.
The home side responded with the next three points, two of them coming from their marksman Harry Doherty (0-8), ahead of Dara O’Dwyer levelling the decider once more and Doughan (2 frees) and Patrick Hackett rounding off the winning tally for Nenagh CBS.
It marks a 20th Harty Cup success for Tipp schools and the Premier County’s fourth consecutive success in the Munster U19A schools hurling competition.
