Dingle triumphed to their first Munster club senior football championship title after edging out St Finbarr’s in Thurles this afternoon.
It finished 1-18 to 0-20 at FBD Semple Stadium, where Conor Geaney’s two-pointer from a free at the death secured the Kerry champions their maiden provincial senior title.
Dingle had trailed by seven points early in the second-half, with their Cork counterparts having run up a 0-8 to 0-4 lead 15 minutes in before Paul Geaney struck the ball to their net for this decider’s only goal.

Mark O’Connor brought the teams level five minutes later, but Barrs hit a purple patch afterwards that saw scores flying over from dual star Brian Hayes and the excellent Stephen Sherlock, who registered 0-16, as they carried in a 0-14 to 1-6 half-time lead.
Dylan Geaney and Sherlock exchanged points early in the restart before two more Sherlock frees make it 0-19 to 1-9.
Dingle got motoring again with a huge two-pointer from Paul Geaney and, after Hayes sent over the Barrs last point in the 48th minute, a pair from Dylan Geaney were backed up by a two-pointer from the same player to leave one in it headed into injury-time.

In the fourth added minute, Dingle were awarded a free, which was brought up for not giving the ball back after the free was given, and Conor Geaney did the rest.
After securing their club’s first Munster club SFC success, Pádriag Corcoran’s men now advance to the All-Ireland semi-finals against newly crowned Leinster champions Ballyboden St Enda’s on the weekend of January 3/4.
