Andy Comerford has stoked the fire ahead of Kilkenny’s do-or-die Leinster SHC Round 5 clash with Dublin at Parnell Park on Sunday.
In an interview with TC Tyres World of Gaelic Games on CRKC, the former All-Ireland winning captain claimed that Dublin ‘are no great shakes’ and tipped the Cats – who have yet to win on the road this year – to get the win they need to qualify for the Leinster SHC final.
“We have a reasonably good record at Parnell Park. I think we’re actually unbeaten up there in championship fare. Listen, I’d be positive enough that if we can get our full complement of players on the field, I think that we can take Dublin, most definitely,” he said.
“They’re not the Dublin team that beat us seven or eight years ago in Portlaoise. They’re not as classy as that. We’ll just have the replicate the performance in the second half [against Kildare] and we’ll beat Dublin.”
