Cheers Royal.Legend. Considering it took Louth 50 years to reach one in 2010. The 1990s was a missed opportunity for Louth to reach a Leinster final. They lost 6 Leinster semi-finals. Are Meath still making progress with this management team? Louth making us look pretty pathetic with our performance (or lack there of) against Dublin. About my 10th time saying this in the last 5 years but if anyone in county board had any sense we'd have someone who has experienced Dublin setup in the last 12 years running our county team. They are miles ahead in terms of know how and setup, in all facets such as fitness and tactics. And our county is flooded with Dubs now. Just look at Louth today under Ger Brennan in his first year. We have much better footballers than Louth overall in the county. They put us as a county to shame today when you look at our pathetic performance that completely lacked belief. When I heard it was in Iniskeen, I assumed there'd been upgrades to the ground since I was there 10 years ago, because while it's a fine club ground it is hardly capable of hosting an All Ireland SFC game between Meath and Louth. But if Google Maps is anything to go by it's the same as it was; a single stand 1/3 the length of the pitch, and then a single terrace going 2/3s the length of the pitch the other side. Agreed a stadium of that size and that parking facility isn't fit to host this game: it's not far off Ashbourne in terms of a venue, a bit bigger stand and small terrace on the other side but Ashbourne would have more parking. It's a fine club ground and has held a few national league games but capacities weren't massive at them either. A few times kerry were involved who don't really travel in numbers for long distance league games. Is there much point not playing it in Ardee if the overall gain is that small? Louth are on a bit of a high at the moment so you'd imagine they will have a reasonable demand for tickets, there will also be a decent demand from Meath fans, which they are more than entitled to, so picking an unnecessarily small venue would almost be in spite of some of their own fans. Not having your house in order in that you don't have a suitable venue for hosting county fixtures should not give a county the option to play this fixture wherever they like. Having this game in a venue like Inniskeen would treat both sets of fans with contempt, especially with 3 or 4 neutral county grounds all within an hour of both sides.
