Meath ace Jordan Morris struck for 1-4 in a ‘Man of the Match’ display against Cavan in yesterday’s Allianz Football League Division 2 derby clash at Kingspan Breffni.
The Royals’ 2-17 to 1-18 victory sees them with two wins from two in the league as they now prepare to host Louth on Saturday week in a repeat of last year’s Leinster SFC final.
Speaking to TG4 Sport after yesterday’s win in Cavan Town, where Jack Flynn’s late two-pointer proved key for the visitors, Morris spoke on the impact of the new rule on games.
“It’s massive. You’re never out of the game now, and the game is never won either,” said the Kingscourt Stars clubman.
“We’ve seen that at club level as well. When you’ve lads who can kick them, it makes a big difference.”
He added: “Two wins from two is great. There’s probably that bit of expectation after last year, but we’re just trying to manage that. It’s next game, next game for us.”
