Meath’s Jordan Morris and Conor Burke from Dublin have been named as the respective GAA/GPA Footballer and Hurler of the Month for June.
Morris, who plays his club football in Cavan with Kingscourt Stars, scored 1-6 in a man of the match performance for the rejuvenated Royals in their All-Ireland SFC quarter-final victory over Galway. His contribution was all the more noteworthy following his recovery from a serious knee injury sustained against Louth in the Allianz League which looked to have ended his season at the time.
Burke, meanwhile, shot 0-5 for the Dublin hurlers in their sensational All-Ireland SHC quarter-final defeat of Limerick.
Waterford captain Emma Murray is the Player of the Month for ladies football while Galway’s dynamic forward Niamh Mallon picks up the award for camogie.
