
Donegal star Michael Murphy struck for 0-10 as his club Glenswilly maintained their 100% start to the county senior football championship with a 1-21 to 1-11 victory over Downings yesterday.
The sides had been level on 1-5 apiece after 20 minutes at Downings Park, where Paidin Shiels’s goal for the hosts was cancelled out by Sean Collum, but Glenswilly would go in at the break up by six points with Murphy to the fore for them.
The second-half saw the visitors growing their lead into double digits as Murphy, Kealan Dunleavy and Oisin McGrenra all landed two-pointers to help wrap up their side’s second win in as many games.
Elsewhere in the Donegal SFC yesterday, St Michael's edged a 1-16 to 2-11 win against Ardara, Dungloe were 2-12 to 0-15 victors over Killybegs, Termon made their goals count in a 4-7 to 1-11 win against Glenfin while St Eunan’s were held to a draw by Sean MacCumhaills (1-11 to 0-14).
