Sam Mulroy has hailed Louth's self-belief as they gear up for their first Leinster SFC defence in 68 years.
The All-Star forward lifted the Delaney Cup amid wild scenes of celebration last summer after the Wee County defeated a Meath team who had earlier ended Dublin's long reign in the province.
“It was never about waiting on Dublin to slip. It was always about, ‘How can we go catch them?’ No doubt they’ll be eyeing it up as well, they’ll want it back and start their cycle again," Mulroy told reporters at yesterday's Leinster SFC launch.
“But when we look around our dressing-room, we all have serious belief in each other, know each other inside out. I think that’s been a big asset to us over the last number of years.
"We know where we’ve come from, what we can do, and where we don’t want it to go.”
Reflecting on last year's long-awaited success, Mulroy added: "I thought that was super important that we finally got over the line. I know there was the element of Dublin weren’t there, I don’t know if that played into it, but within the group - it was time we went and won it."
