Dunloy star Keelan Molloy has not ruled out joining Mark Doran’s Antrim senior football squad after holding several conversations with the county manager about a possible change of code.
Molloy and fellow clubman Seaan Elliott previously opted to concentrate on hurling, but the attacker is open to giving football a go.
“He (Doran) has rang a few times now. He’s definitely trying! He seems like a nice fellow. We had some very good conversations, so he’s definitely trying, but no decisions have been made yet,” Molloy told BelfastLive.co.uk.
“I wouldn’t mind having a go at it but it probably depends on how the club season ends here and how I feel. I’m definitely not shutting it down.
“I can speak for myself anyway. I don't know about Seaan (Elliott), but he has talked to us, but I don’t know yet, we will see.
“There probably is (a desire to try football) I’m definitely not shutting it down straight away. I wouldn’t mind having a go at it but it probably depends on how the club season ends here and how I feel. I’m definitely not shutting it down.”
Molloy is set to line-out for Dunloy in tomorrow's rescheduled Antrim senior hurling championship final against Cushendall in Ballycastle (2pm) as the Cuchulainns club bid to claim their first county SHC title since 2022.
