Cork will play Offaly in the All-Ireland senior hurling championship quarter-finals after losing out by a point to Limerick in this afternoon’s Munster final.
Peter Casey’s late score proved the difference in a 1-21 to 2-17 victory for the Shannonsiders at Pairc Ui Chaoimh where the Rebels were dethroned of their provincial crown.
The result means that Ben O’Connor’s men must now defeat Offaly on the weekend of June 20/21 if they are to return to the All-Ireland semi-finals, with Galway awaiting the winners on that side on July 4th.
The Tribesmen’s comprehensive Leinster SHC final win over Dublin yesterday evening means that the capital men are now in line to play Clare in the quarter-finals in two weeks’ time, with the winners facing Limerick on July 5th for a place in the All-Ireland final.
Times, dates and venues for the All-Ireland SHC quarter-finals are to be confirmed.
