Joe Brolly has made a winning start to his tenure as Knockmore senior ladies football manager.
Brolly’s first game in charge yielded a 3-8 to 0-7 victory over Castlebar Mitchels in last Sunday’s Mayo LGFA Senior League Division 1 opener. Two goals from Amy O’Connor and another from Lara Sweeney helped the Lough Conn outfit to get back on track after last year’s county final loss to Westport.
The 1993 Derry All-Ireland SFC winner and former Sunday Game analyst lives locally with his wife Laurita Blewitt and their new-born daughter, and was part of Ray Dempsey’s senior men’s management team last year when Knockmore reached the Mayo SFC semi-finals. He was ratified as the club’s new ladies manager last month.
