Tipperary claimed their first All-Ireland U20 hurling championship title in six years thanks to a 3-19 to 1-16 victory over Kilkenny at Nowlan Park this afternoon.
Paddy McCormack (2) and Conor Martin struck the second-half goals which made the difference for Tipp as they triumphed to their county’s 12th James Nowlan Cup at the Kilkenny ground, having lost out to Offaly at the same stage of the competition last year.

Brendan Cummins’s side held a 0-10 to 0-8 lead at the interval, with the frees of senior star Darragh McCarthy and an Adam Delaney point helping them edge things.
Martin stretched the Premier County’s lead early in the resumption and Sam Farrell would make it a four-point game before McCormack fired in their first goal in the 37th minute.

Michael Brennan’s points helped keep the Cats in touch, but they’d be left with a mammoth task for the closing 10 minutes after McCormack sent in his second goal.
It got worse for the Leinster champions when Martin raised his side’s third green flag six minutes, and while the home side would net through Marty Murphy late on, it proved mere consolation as Tipp took the honours with nine to spare in the end.

They all have All-Ireland medals in their back pocket. If we don't listen to them, we'll listen to no one'.🗣️
