Pat Spillane thinks new Dublin football manager Ger Brennan will try to lure Paul Mannion and Brian Fenton back into the fold.

Neither player was involved this year, with Fenton having announced his inter-county retirement at the age of 31 last November.

“Kilmacud haven’t gone away, you know. They’ll be serious contenders for Dublin, Leinster and All-Ireland honours this year,” the Kerry legend wrote in his Sunday World column.

“Also, Shane Walsh is back to full fitness. And guess who was the class act on the field? A certain Paul Mannion. Absolute magic.

“If Michael Murphy was the prodigal son of the 2025 football championship, I have no doubt that Ger Brennan will be trying to persuade Mannion, and Brian Fenton, to consider an inter-county return in 2026.

“Remember where you read it first.”
