Caroline Currid’s contribution to Limerick’s latest All-Ireland SHC success was lauded by Cian Lynch in his acceptance speech.

Mention of the renowned sports psychologist’s name drew huge cheers of approval from the Limerick supporters after their side’s emphatic victory over Galway at Croke Park. Currid’s return to the set-up after a three-year lapse was central to Limerick lifting the Liam MacCarthy Cup for the sixth time in nine years.

"We’re just privileged and honoured to have you part of our group, Caroline, to have you back with us this year," the Limerick captain said.

"Your knowledge, your information that you share with us, but you’re just that mother figure.

"You’re someone that we can lean on, outside of sport and in our lives in general, and we really do appreciate you, so thank you, Caroline," he added.
