Kilkenny club conceded 1-1 after returning late for second half!
A view of the sliotar

There were farcical scenes during last Sunday’s Kilkenny Section B Junior Hurling League final between Lisdowney and James Stephens in Clara.

When James Stephens spent more time than they should have in the dressing-room at half-time, referee Brandon Power threw in the ball and Lisdowney proceeded the score 1-1, with the point coming from a 20-metre free after players from ‘The Village’ had aired their grievances about the game restarting without them.

According to Kilkenny Live, these scores had a major bearing on the outcome as Lisdowney went on to win by 2-18 to 1-19 thanks to late points from Conor McEvoy and substitute Ross Whelan. James Stephens went into the break leading 0-10 to 0-8, but found themselves 0-10 to 1-9 in arrears by time they retook the field!
