There was late drama at the Box-It Athletic Grounds this evening as Monaghan came from a dozen points down to force extra time against Derry.
Ciaran Meenagh’s side thought they had survived their Farney counterparts’ late rally and booked themselves into the Ulster senior football championship final, with referee Noel Mooney blowing the full-time whistle as Jack McCarron stood over a sideline ball with the scoreboard reading 3-16 to 1-20.
However, as it turned out, Monaghan would be allowed to take the sideline kick and substitute McCarron sent it over with the outside of left foot (watch it below) to force extra time in Armagh.
