Anthony Rainbow has been named as the new Raheens senior football manager.

The Suncroft and Kildare great returns to his native county after leading Arles-Killeen to a Laois SFC quarter-final appearance against champions-elect Portarlington this year. Prior to that, Rainbow was part of the Kildare management during Glenn Ryan’s time in charge.

Rainbow also managed Carlow for two years over a decade ago, and guided Sarsfields to Kildare SFC success and Ballyboden St Enda’s to Dublin SFC and Leinster club SFC titles.

In this year’s Kildare SFC, Raheens beat Caragh to qualify for the winners’ group where they suffered a trio of defeats to Naas, Sarsfields and Maynooth.
