Roscommon senior football manager Mark Dowd has confirmed that former Dublin forward Jason Sherlock will be part of his backroom room team for next season.
Last night’s meeting of the Roscommon county board saw the 1995 All-Ireland winner named in Dowd’s managerial set-up along with Iain Daly (Michael Glaveys) and John Rogers (Strokestown), with former Kilkenny hurling strength and conditioning coach Mickey Comerford also in the backroom team.
Sherlock was a member of Jim Gavin’s backroom team in Dublin when the capital men achieved a historic five-in-a-row run from 2015 to 2019.
Afterwards, he would go on to work with Dessie Dolan in Westmeath during the 2023 and 2024 seasons as a performance coach.
The Rossies’ first competitive game under Dowd, who succeeded Davy Burke in August, will see them playing Leitrim in the opening round of the FBD League in the weekend of January 3rd/4th.
