Dunloy will be without Eoin O’Neill for Sunday’s Antrim senior hurling championship final against Cushendall after the forward suffered a shoulder injury.

Manager Liam Richmond confirmed O’Neill has sustained an AC injury, describing his absence as a significant setback ahead of the decider in Ballycastle.

Speaking to BelfastLive.co.uk, Richmond acknowledged O’Neill’s disappointment at missing the showpiece occasion but stressed that his absence creates an opportunity for another player to step up.

“It is a massive blow for us, but for Eoin himself too,” he said.

“It is a chance for somebody else to step in and do the business. He's had his fair share of injuries. You know, to get to this stage of the year – there’s no real comeback from that.”
