Galway ladies boss Daniel Moynihan said he was thrilled after seeing his side come out on top in a tough against Kerry in yesterday’s All-Ireland SFC final.

A first Brendan Martin Cup triumph since 2004 for the Tribeswomen saw them having to battle until the end to earn a one-point victory.

Speaking to RTE Sport afterwards, a delighted Moynihan said that there was a lot of pressure on the group to get over the line.

"Everyone presumes Galway being a footballing county that we'd be steeped in history but we've only ever gotten to a few All-Ireland finals and it's been nearly a quarter of a century since we won the first one," he said.

"There's a lot of pressure from the outside. You know always the question of why Galway haven't been able to do it and some of these girls have soldiered for 13, 14, 15 years. See the likes of Louise (Ward) and Nicola (Ward) and Olivia (Divilly).

“There's so many and to finally, finally get that one cup that was missing for them, I'm so thrilled. Delighted."
