Scotstown have been drawn in the same group as Clontibret and high-flying Corduff in this year’s Monaghan SFC.
The holders have a bye in Round 1 before opening their campaign against local rivals Truagh, who they drew with in the Senior League last week. The tie of the first round is the meeting of last year’s runners-up Clontibret and current League leaders Corduff, who are managed by Seamus ‘Banty’ McEnaney. Cremartin complete Group 1.
In Group 2, Ballybay and Inniskeen face off in the first round. Aughnamullen, Latton and last year’s intermediate champions Magheracloone are the other teams in the section. The top team in each group will qualify directly for the semi-finals, with the second and third-placed teams progressing to quarter-finals. Each side will have two home and two away fixtures in the round-robin series.
The Monaghan SFC gets underway on the second weekend of August.
The groups are as follows:
Group 1: Scotstown, Clontibret, Corduff, Cremartin and Truagh
Group 2: Inniskeen, Aughnamullen, Ballybay, Latton and Magheracloone
