New Derry football boss Ciaran Meenagh is planning without Ciaran McFaul for the 2026 campaign.
Meenagh confirmed after last night's McKenna Cup win over Antrim that the long-serving Glen forward won't be involved this year. However, he expects to have defender Eoin McEvoy back from injury in the near future and has also welcomed Slaughtneil dual stars Brendan Rogers and Shane McGuigan back into the fold, just a couple of weeks after the Emmets' All-Ireland club SHC semi-final defeat to Loughrea.
"Ciaran McFaul is not in a position to commit this year, so he's not part of the panel," Meenagh told BBC NI.
"Eoin McEvoy is part of the panel, he's just coming back from a wee bit of tendinopathy in the knee and he's making unbelievable progress. He's chomping at the bit and ready to go, so I'm looking forward to having him back soon.
"The Slaughtneil boys are back in training now. Brendan and Shane are back this week there. So we have everybody else fit."
