Éire Óg Ennis remain on course for a first Clare senior football and hurling championship double in 96 years after their footballers’ victory over Lissycasey yesterday.
It finished 2-10 to 0-9 at Zimmer Biomet Páirc Chiosóg, Ennis, where goals from Colm Walsh O’Loghlen and Manus Doherty helped the holders to get over the line.
Following the untimely passing of Eire Og dual star Darren O’Brien’s brother Bernard the previous day, the semi-final marked an emotional occasion that saw the Ennis side recording a seven-point win in the end to move into their fourth Clare SFC final in five years.
The club now has an opportunity to do something which it hasn’t done in the best part of a century as its senior hurlers are currently gearing up for a county final date against Clooney-Quinn on October 9th having defeated Kilmaley (1-14 to 1-12) in the semi-finals last weekend.
In SFC final, the Ennis club await the winners of this afternoon’s last four clash between Cratloe and St Joseph’s Doora Barefield at Zimmer Biomet Páirc Chiosóg (2.30pm).
TweetThe double dream stays alive for Éire Óg as they qualify for yet another Clare SFC Final.

Ciarán Russell, Manus Doherty, Aaron Fitzgerald, and Colm Walsh O’Loghlen (while he was on the field) were particularly impressive for The Townies.
