Edendork through to Tyrone SFC last four after edging seven-goal thriller against Clonoe

Edendork survived a remarkable seven-goal thriller against Clonoe last night (Friday) to book their place in the semi-finals of the Tyrone senior football championship.

It finished 3-25 to 4-15 in Dungannon, where Darren McCurry was the key figure for the winners, finishing with a superb 10-point haul, including crucial two-pointers during a stunning late fightback.

Clonoe appeared to have taken control when goals from Eoin Mansell, Ryan McCabe and Pascal McClure helped them open up a six-point advantage early in the second-half. But Edendork refused to fold.

McCurry sparked the revival with a free and a superb two-pointer before James Fearon narrowed the gap further. Luke Ferguson then struck the decisive goal, firing Edendork in front after Clonoe were punished for a poor kick-out.

McCurry added another two-pointer as Edendork completed a remarkable nine-point swing in just 10 minutes.

Clonoe reduced the deficit to two, but their hopes suffered another blow when Fintan McClure was dismissed after picking up a second yellow card.

Stephen Corr, McCurry and a late two-point free from Tyrone ‘keeper Niall Morgan ensured Edendork held their nerve to seal a place in the last four after what was a fantastic championship encounter.
