David Clifford scored 0-12, including 0-9 from play and three two-pointers, as Fossa saw off Listowel Emmets by 1-19 to 2-12 to reach the Kerry club IFC semi-finals for the fourth year in-a-row.
Hosts Fossa were pushed hard by a Listowel team who levelled through James McVeigh before a late Ted O’Gorman goal got the favourites across the line. Fossa led by 0-11 to 1-5 at the break with Darragh Lynch netting for the visitors. John Carmody bagged a second Listowel goal shortly after the restart, but Clifford’s scoring prowess told in the end.
Fossa will now face Peter Keane’s Beaufort in one of the semi-finals, with east Kerry rivals Glenflesk and Kilcummin meeting in the other. In the other quarter-finals, Glenflesk defeated Laune Rangers by 4-11 to 0-16, Kilcummin beat Ballymacelligott 2-16 to 0-14, while Beaufort were 4-14 to 0-18 winners over John Mitchels.
