Clare hurler David Reidy has been discharged from hospital and “is recovering well” after the injury he sustained in the latter stages of yesterday’s All-Ireland quarter-final win over Dublin.

The Banner men were leading by 0-25 to 0-15 when Reidy suffered a head injury in the 67th minute as the result of a challenge by Brendan Kenny. The incident required the Clare player to be stretchered off and brought hospital, with the Dublin substitute receiving a straight red card for the challenge.

Brian Lohan’s side would go on to win by 0-29 to 0-16 and book their place in the semi-finals, with Clare GAA confirming this afternoon that Reidy has since been released from hospital and on the road to recovery.

“Clare hurler David Reidy has been released from hospital and is recovering well following the injury he sustained in yesterday’s game,” the statement read.

“A huge thank you to the first responders and medical teams from Clare GAA and Dublin GAA, as well as the staff at FBD Semple Stadium, for the outstanding care and attention provided.

“Many thanks to all who have sent messages of support and well wishes.”
