Former Dublin star Hannah Tyrrell feels Kerry have the “slight edge” going into tomorrow’s All-Ireland ladies senior football championship final against Galway (4.15pm).

The big clash at Croke Park is a repeat of the 2024 decider which saw the Kingdom cruising to a 12-point win over their Connacht counterparts and ending a 31-year wait for the coveted Brendan Martin Cup.

Speaking on RTÉ Radio 1’s Morning Ireland ahead of game, two-time All-Ireland winner Tyrrell gave Kerry the nod to make it a second success in three years at Croker.

"Both teams on paper are incredibly strong and have had comfortable semi-final wins in their last game," said the ex-Dubs attacker.

"But you look at Kerry, the calibre of players they have and their experience - they've been here, they've done it before in 2024 and they beat Galway that time.

"Galway certainly have a calibre of players that have the ability to win.

"I just think Kerry have been going well. Their experience and the likes of Siofra O'Shea, who for me is going to be Footballer of the Year, just have that slight edge."

She added: "I think if Kerry get a good start, they could do a lot of damage. The only place I could see Galway really, really doing well is - Kerry kick-outs haven't been brilliant.

"They're not the be-all and end-all of a game, but if Galway can turn a few of those over and maybe bang in a few goals, it obviously will change the perspective of things."
