Peter Brady and Greg Farrelly have been appointed as the new joint-managers of the Edenderry senior football team.
The duo replace another clubman in Richie Dalton, who surprisingly stepped down in November after just one season in charge. While the Reds’ season ended with a disastrous Offaly SFC semi-final loss to Ferbane, Dalton would still have been expected to remain at the helm after leading them to a Division 1 League title and to the last-four of the Dowling Cup after topping a group that also included Ferbane and Rhode.
The new joint-managers will have current Offaly minor football manager Adrian Farrell as their head coach, and two more locals in former county secretary Colm Cummins and Michael Bryan as selectors, with Ciaran Breen overseeing the strength and conditioning.
Brady was one of Edenderry and Offaly’s top forwards during the 1980s and ‘90s, winning Leinster SFC and National League medals in 1997 and '98, while Farrelly led the Faithful ladies footballers to All-Ireland junior glory in 2013 before returning to the post in 2024.
This will be Brady’s second time to manage his beloved club, having previously spent eight years in charge from 2011 to ’18, during which he delivered Dowling Cups in 2011 and 2015.
