Rian O’Neill has come into the Armagh squad for today’s All-Ireland SFC group stage clash against Derry at the Athletic Grounds (5pm).
O’Neill, who has yet to feature for the All-Ireland champions in 2025, was originally left out of the matchday 26 named by manager Kieran McGeeney on Thursday night.
However, the GAA confirmed this afternoon that an approved panel change sees the All-Star forward replacing Aidan Forker and that he will wear the number 6 jersey in the Orchard captain’s place.

It’s welcome news for Armagh fans who saw O’Neill with the squad for their Ulster SFC final extra time defeat to Donegal earlier this month, coming off the team bus and taking part in the warm-up before throw-in although he did not see any game time in Clones.
His anticipated participation today against Derry would mark his first competitive game in an Armagh jersey since the All-Ireland final victory over Galway almost 10 months ago.
