Donaghmore dominate replay against Carrickmore for Tyrone SFC semi-final berth

Donaghmore produced a dominant display to sweep aside Carrickmore (2-21 to 0-10) in last night's Tyrone senior football championship quarter-final replay in Dungannon.

Having played out a 1-14 to 0-17 draw last Sunday, the two sides clashed again to see which would advance to a semi-final against Edendork an it was Donaghmore that came up with a complete performance at the second time of asking.

Carrickmore made the brighter start, but their opponents hit back through the scores of Joey Clarke, Noah Grimes and Ronan Donnelly before Ronan Cassidy added a point.

Ryan Cush then set-up his brother Conor for a crucial goal in the 22nd minute, and further scores from the latter and Conor O’Neill, along with a Grimes goal, left Donaghmore 2-11 to 0-5 ahead at half-time.

Carrickmore improved after the break but could not close the gap, with Donaghmore continuing to control proceedings and adding scores through Cush (1-6), O’Neill, Cormac McCann, Cassidy, Rian McAshea, Clarke and Peter McKenna.
