The countdown is on to the 2026 Hurling for Cancer Research exhibition game which takes place in Netwatch Cullen Park next Monday, August 24 at 7.30pm.
All proceeds from the Centra-backed event will support the Irish Cancer Society and the life-saving research they do. Launched in 2012 by horse racing legends Jim Bolger and Davy Russell, Hurling for Cancer Research is an annual fundraiser gathering an array of incredible sportspeople, past and present, and celebrities to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society. The event has raised €2 million to date.
The match will not only provide an exciting evening of entertainment, but also help fund critical cancer research. Every ticket purchased and donation made brings us one step closer to a future free from cancer.
New for 2026, Hurling for Cancer Research branded milk cartons will roll out across Centra stores nationwide, turning an everyday purchase into an easy way to support the cause, with customers able to donate or buy tickets instantly by scanning the on-pack QR code.
Among those taking part are Patrick Horgan, Ashling Thompson, TJ Reid, Jackie Tyrrell, Tommy Walsh, Walter Walsh, Grace Walsh, Darragh O’Donovan, Brian Hayes, Lee Chin, Joe Canning and Austin Gleeson.
The game will also feature Dublin football ace Con O'Callaghan, former Mayo footballer Conor Mortimer and Republic of Ireland soccer international Stephen Hunt.
Tickets, costing €10 per adult and €5 per child, are available to purchase now on www.hurlingforcancer.ie
