A calf injury is threatening Tom O’Sullivan’s participation in Sunday’s Munster SFC final.

The Dingle corner back sustained the injury just after half-time in Kerry’s semi-final win over Clare and joins an extensive injury list that also includes Seán O’Shea, Joe O’Connor, Dylan Geaney, Graham O’Sullivan, Brian Ó Beaglaioch, Paul Murphy and Shane Ryan.

“He’s done bits and pieces since but he hasn’t trained with the group, so Tom would certainly be in the doubtful category as well,” Jack O’Connor explained at Kerry’s Munster SFC final press event on Monday.

“Ideally, you’d like a clean bill of health. We just seemed to be hit with a spate of injuries there together. To fairly important men as well. How you deal with them, we’re dipping into the reserves.”

The Kingdom boss added: “We think the panel that we had going to Ennis will be more or less the panel for the Cork game. I’d say the game will probably come too soon for some of the injured lads.

“Some of those injuries can turn quickly. But at the moment, any of the players who were absent in Clare haven’t returned to full training. That’s as much as I can say. I’m not a medical man.”
