It was Buttevant that made the better start, running up an early 0-4 to 0-0 lead after a couple of two-pointers from Mark Lenahan and David Hanlon (free).
Scores from Michael Reidy, Aidan Breen and Darragh Broderick helped to bring Ballymacelligot level and they’d hit the front with a Donal Daly goal.
Conor Hanlon pulled back a point for the Cork champions, but it was their opponents that took in a 1-4 to 0-6 lead at half-time and kicked on after the change of ends with a Jack Joy point being backed up by Niall Collins’s score from beyond the arc.
Breen stretched his side’s lead before Mairtin McKivergan’s goal saw them with one hand on the trophy and they’d wrap it with another goal from the penalty spot with two minutes left in normal time.
