Dublin and Kilkenny’s players wore shorts ahead of this afternoon’s Leinster senior camogie championship semi-final as protest against the wearing of 'skorts'.

Match officials at the St Peregrine’s GAA club, Blanchardstown informed both teams before the throw-in that they would have to change into skorts or else the match would be abandoned.

Dublin walked off the field and into the dressing room before Kilkenny did likewise. Both sets of players came out some minutes later wearing the mandatory skorts and the game went ahead.

Ultimately, it would see Kilkenny claiming a 4-11 to 2-12 victory over their capital counterparts to move into the provincial final against Wexford on May 17th. 

Earlier this week, a press release from the GPA outlined that 83% wanted the option of choosing whether they'd wear shorts or skorts while representing their respective teams on the playing field.
