Kildare and Meath will contest the Leinster MFC final on Friday week, May 22 after battling past Louth and Dublin in last night's semi-finals.
Kildare are just one game away from completing a provincial U20 and minor double after Jack Doran's 52nd minute goal proved decisive in a 1-11 to 0-10 victory over Louth at the Hunterstown Rovers grounds. The sides were level at 0-5 apiece at half-time before the visitors opened up a three-point gap after the restart.
Louth, for whom Connell Kelly top-scored with 0-5, regained parity through Cillian Duff and Brian O'Neill before Doran raised the only green flag, and Logan Tennyson and Fiachra Martin followed up with points as the Lilywhites avenged their group match loss in Hawkfield to Eamonn McEneaney's side.
After losing their first two group games, Meath continued their remarkable renaissance with a 2-14 to 2-8 win over Dublin at Parnell Park.
Trevor Giles' free-scoring young guns have now won four games on the bounce, including three by huge margins, as they close in on a first Leinster MFC title since their All-Ireland winning year of 2021.
Dublin, who were fortunate to top their group on scoring difference, led by 1-3 to 0-2 after 16 minutes thanks to Patrick Cahill's palmed goal. But Meath hit back with majors from Milo Stafford and Cormac McKenna to take a 2-4 to 1-3 lead into the break.
An Eoghan Madden goal helped the hosts to retake the lead in the second half, but the wind-assisted Royals finished with a flourish as a Harry McGuirk two-pointer was followed by late singles from Stafford, substitute Leo Kavanagh, Dara Loughran and Cormac McKenna.
