In Belfield, UCD scored an emphatic 5-18 to 1-17 win against TUS Midwest, with Dublin’s Dara Purcell netting early on for the victors and David Williams (2), Diarmaid Ó Dúlaing and David Lee also raising the umpire’s green flag.

Elsewhere, Denis Walsh’s 0-11 tally proved key as DCU came from behind to secure a 2-22 to 2-19 win over Maynooth University on Wednesday, meaning they now have a home quarter-final against UL to look forward to.
