Familiar foes face off in Clare SHC semi-finals

The draw for the Clare SHC semi-finals has pitted holders Éire Óg against Inagh/Kilnamona and Scariff against Kilmaley.

Éire Óg and Inagh/Kilnamona meet for the fifth time in six years, while Scariff and Kilmaley lock horns for the fourth time in five seasons. The last-four ties will be played on the weekend of September 26-27.

In the second of the weekend’s quarter-final double-bill at Zimmer Biomet Páirc Chíosóg yesterday, Marco Cleary scored a hat-trick of goals to help Éire Óg to a 3-25 to 1-14 victory over Wolfe Tones Shannon. In their televised clash, Kilmaley finished strongly to eliminate Clonlara on a 1-20 to 1-17 scoreline.

In Saturday’s quarter-final action, Mark Rodgers scored the only goal as Scariff edged out last year’s runners-up Clooney-Quin by 1-25 to 0-27, while Kealan Guyler’s green flag was crucial to Inagh-Kilnamona’s 1-23 to 1-17 win over Cratloe.
