Tadhg Morley reckons Kerry's recent All-Ireland SFC Round 1 clash with Donegal in Killarney was the most intense atmosphere he has ever played in.
The All-Ireland champions lost by 10 points after having Micheál Burns sent off following ugly half-time scenes.
“I don’t know, have I been at a game in Fitzgerald Stadium where the actual Kerry crowd were so invested in the game?" the long-serving half back quipped at yesterday's All-Ireland SFC launch in Trim.
“Between the Kerry supporters and Donegal supporters, it was even getting tense, do you know what I mean? It was getting spicy that way, as it was on the field."
Kerry travel to Newbridge to face Kildare in Round 2B on the weekend after next and Morley is hoping they can get back on track just as they did after losing to Meath last year.
“After the Meath game last year, we kind of hit a real reset button after that, and we kind of hit a momentum patch from there on,” he recalled.
“The Kerry supporters really travelled with us and travelled in numbers to Croke Park and that really helped. So this year, it’s the same really, it’s a reset after the Donegal game, it’s pure knockout now, no second chances.
"So we’re just looking to get a performance above in Newbridge and to try to hit that momentum trail again if we can.”
