Kildimo-Pallaskenry advanced to the Limerick senior football championship final thanks to a 2-16 to 0-20 extra time victory over Mungret in Clarina.
Conor Staff’s goal in the first-half of extra time proved crucial as KP knocked out the defending champions to move into their first SFC decider in the Treaty County.
Having led by 0-9 to 0-6 at half-time in normal time, Paudi Hartigan's goal helped Kildimo hold a three-point advantage in the closing 10 minutes when the holders’ late push forced the extra periods.
Jack Dervan's point moved Mungret ahead prior to clearing a Peter Nash (0-8) effort off the line only for Staff to send in the rebound, surging KP back in front as they held out in the second-half to earn the two-point win.
Declan Nash’s men now face the winners of this afternoon’s other semi-final clash between Fr Casey’s and Monaleen (4pm).
