Pat Spillane claims the new Dublin football management set-up is lacking a top-class coach.
Manager Ger Brennan has assembled a highly-decorated backroom team which includes fellow All-Ireland winners Stephen Cluxton, Dean Rock and Denis Bastick, but Spillane still thinks they are missing a high-calibre and proven inter-county coach.
“Ger Brennan has named his Dublin management backroom team, comprised of former playing colleagues and Dublin legends Dean Rock, Stephen Cluxton, Denis Bastick. He is also bringing in Niall Moyna, his assistant in Louth,” the Kerry legend wrote in his Sunday World column.
“It is high-profile most definitely, although I couldn’t help thinking that this was a management team very light on coaching expertise, or indeed coaching experience...
“The key was identifying not local legends and big names – the road that Ger Brennan has obviously gone down – but to select a management team packed with top coaches.”
