New Louth football manager Gavin Devlin has drafted fellow Tyrone All-Ireland SFC winner Ronan O’Neill into his backroom team.

The Omagh St Enda’s clubman, who won the Sam Maguire with the Red Hands in 2021, will serve as a coach after fulfilling a similar role under recently-departed Fermanagh manager Kieran Donnelly. O’Neill continues to be one of the most prolific forwards on the Tyrone club scene.

A statement from Louth GAA read: “A proud member of the Omagh St Enda’s club, Ronan’s playing career was marked by notable successes, including winning the Tyrone Senior Football Championship in 2017 and the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship with Tyrone in 2021.

“Since stepping into coaching, Ronan has continued to impress and most recently served a coach with the Fermanagh senior footballers.

“Louth GAA warmly welcome Ronan to the management team and look forward to the valuable experience and expertise he will bring to the set-up.”

Devlin was named as Ger Brennan’s replacement last month, with Peter Dooley as his assistant.
