Clare’s minor footballers are set to swim this coming New Year’s Day as they look to raise funds for Crumlin Children’s Hospital.
The Banner lads’ season drew to a close last Tuesday night when they lost out to Kerry in the Munster MFC final and they’re now set to do their part for a good cause.
The fundraiser has been organised by Marie McInerney Browne on behalf of her niece Ann Mc Inerney who is underdoing treatment at Crumlin Children’s Hospital for Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer.
On Friday morning at 11am, the players will be swimming Lahinch on the northwest coast of Clare as they raise funds for the charity drive which is already at over €8,300.
A donation to the fundraiser can be made here.
