Crosserlough in another final
August 10, 2004
Crosserlough advanced to the final of the Division 3A reserve football championship when they came from behind to overcome a gallant Butlersbridge side in a high-scoring semi-final game played at the Ballinagh venue - final score was 1-17 to 1-10 in favour of the Crosserlough side.
For long periods in this game the 'Bridge were the better side, and with the game entering the final quarter they led by 1-9 to 0-7. However, the greater experience of the Crosserlough side told in the end. They never lost their composure and with the introduction of former senior stars such as Pat Shalvey and Damien Reilly, and with Paul Galligan proving a real thorn to the 'Bridge defence they got through for the vital scores in the last quarter to gain a deserved win.
In the end it was a disappointed 'Bridge side that trooped off the field. They had the game in the palm of their hands entering the final quarter, but when on top just couldn't kill off a determined Crosserlough side that battled tremendously to the final whistle.
