Casey rejuvenated between the posts
November 01, 2001
Former Mayo star forward John Casey has been plaqued with injuries in recent times but his relocation between the posts with Charlestown has rejuvenated his football career and he is now looking forward to a Connacht Club SFC clash against Roscommon Gaels this weekend.
Casey's injury woes began in 1999 and since then he has been unable to display the talent which earned him rave reviews in Mayo's march to the All-Ireland final of 1996 which they lost to Meath.
Playing in goals, however, has given him a new lease of life and now he hopes to capture an All-Ireland club medal with Charlestown. The fact that they knocked reigning All-Ireland club champions Crossmolina out of the Mayo SFC bodes well for their chances.
