KILLUCAN HOLD 2010 A.G.M.
Our Annual General Meeting was held on Friday, 26th of November in Rathwire National School
Our Outgoing Chairman, Sean Brady, opened the meeting by welcoming the member present and thanked them for turning up in such bad weather. He said it was great to see so many in the community interested in the affairs of the Club and it was very refreshing to see so many young and new faces in attendance.
There was a minutes silence held for members, families and friends of the club, who had bereavements in the past year.
Outgoing Secretary, Ger Quinn, gave a detailed account of the clubs activities, both on and off the field, for 2010.
Club Treasurer, Paul Briody, gave our members an excellent summary of the clubs incoming and expenditures. He stated that our club was low in funds at the moment and a big fundraising drive will be needed in the coming year
Outgoing Chairman, Sean Brady, who stepped down, thanked the club for electing him 4 years ago and stated that it has been both a privilege and an honour to have served as this clubs Chairman and felt that it was time for a change. "My three main aims coming in as chairman was to (a) move into the new grounds, (b) reorganize the Underage structure and (c) win the Senior Championship. We have achieved two of these aims and with a bit of luck, might have achieved the third this year." Before handing over the reins, Sean wished the incoming Chairman, Ger Quinn Jnr, the best of luck in his new role and assured the members present that Ger was "well able for the job, a real GAA man".
Ger, who was club Secretary for 2 years, thanked Sean for his dedication throughout his term who helped him to fulfill his duties as club Secretary, Ger also wished incoming secretary, Declan Carr the very best of luck in his new role. He also thanked Declan, who as assisting secretary, stepped up to the plate for six months while work commitments brought Ger to London.
Thanks went to our sponsors, fundraisers, lotto promoters, team coaches, anyone who bought or sold tickets and anyone who helped out during the year in any way.
Our senior Management team for last year, Dermot Brady and Aiden Lennon, Were thanked and also congratulated for their success during the year. Dermot was also short listed for manager of the year. We wish him every success in the coming year.

Killucan GAA "Clean up" at awards ceremony
We are proud to announce that at the annual Sports awards night held in the Annebrook House Hotel in Mullingar on Saturday night last, Killucan GAA walked away with the three top awards as our manager Dermot Brady and County Star, Paul Greville (2) Claimed the accolades. Dermot won manager of the year while Paul took home both the Player of the year and the overall top scorer. A big well done to both of them on what was a great night for them and indeed, for our club. Paul also collected five man of the match awards while Conor Jordan also took home a man of the match award.
These awards show how well our Senior team have progressed this year and should auger well for next year.
A big well done to Dermot, Paul and Conor. This was not just the icing on the cake of a great year, it was also the cherry on top!!!
