There's a new gym in Athlone town, it's called JG ELITE, and it will celebrate its official opening this Saturday 23rd, May at 1pm.
All are welcome to join in the celebrations this Saturday, where there will be free demonstrations, competitions, prizes, tasty and healthy refreshments, special sporting guests, plus lots of freebies. JG Elite will also announce their Summer Time Table and some great new deals.
JG ELITE, which is located in unit four, Blyry Court in Athlone, is owned by Ballymore man, Westmeath footballer John Gilligan. With his strong sporting background and his extensive training in exercise science, John is very well equipped to offer an elite service.
Having qualified with an honour bachelor degree in sports and exercise science from the University of Limerick, john set up the gym in Athlone in January of this year after spotting a gap in the market for high quality strength and conditioning facility.
The gym offers circuit training classes, small group fit team sessions, and one to one personal training.
The Ballymore native studied biomechanics, physiology and conditioning, and sports psychology during his four year degree. He also completed a six month placement in Under Armour Performance Centre in Baltimore, USA, where he worked with high-profile athletes, including NFL quarterback Cam Newton.
The fully equipped gym, with its philosophy, energy, exercise, empowerment, is named after the elite service it offers.
John is a member of Ballymore GAA, and is currently in his second season as a senior Westmeath footballer. John's GAA background gives him a great insight into the training requirements of athletes, and his qualification gives him the scientific foundation needed to design tailored training programmes.
"While the level of coaching is elite, the gym prides itself on being accessible to everyone, from seasoned athletes to beginners. Both men and women of all shapes and sizes, and fitness levels will find a friendly, welcoming atmosphere at JGElite," said John.
"The gym encompasses a community and family ethos, and all members are valued equally, every member is as important as the next," he said
Gym goers can choose from a selection on morning, evening and Saturday circuit training classes, which incorporate a variety of exercises for a full-body workout.
Join John and the JG Elite team in celebrating their Official Opening on Saturday 23rd of May at 1pm.
