St Mullins manager PJ Delaney has heaped praise on his charge's character following their Leinster club SHC success at the weekend.
Having lost in the opening round of their last two provincial campaigns, the Carlow champions bounced back to defeat Westmeath side Raharney at Cusack Park, Mullingar on Sunday.
St Mullins had to dig deep, but they pulled away in the second half and Delaney pointed to the passion of the players for getting them over the line.
"St Mullins are a very proud parish. I went in to the club from Kilkenny with what I thought was a hurling passion. It has been redoubled since I came down and this is for them," Delaney told the Carlow Nationalist.
"There were a lot of happy people in the dressingroom. They are the boys who are doing the work and it is paying off at the moment."
