Laois Senior Hurling manager Seamus Plunkett is seeking more from his charges, despite a strong final quarter helping the O'Moore's to a six-point win over Antrim in the Leinster SHC at O'Moore Park, Portlaoise tonight.

The hosts delivered some excellent hurling, including holding the Saffrons scoreless over the final 14 minutes, as Laois claimed a 1-16 to 0-13 win.

"I think in the first half we were just trying to counteract Antrim tactically and we probably left a bit of space around the place," he said.

"There was a bit of pressure on our backs. I'm really proud of the lads, they really raised their game in the second half. Probably if they had a bit of conviction on some moves, particularly around the half forward line we could have pushed ourselves a bit on in the game.

"I was happy enough, but we recognise that there is an awful lot of work for us to do now.

"We are playing Carlow in a fortnight's time and that performance probably wouldn't be good enough to beat Carlow I would think.

"They are a Division 1B team. We will be coming back into the training field here and we will just focus on that game. We'll just take it one game at a time and we'll see how we get on."
