Model County certainly rang the changes

Wexford fielded FIFTEEN senior intercounty debutants against NUIG on Saturday.

While the students won the Walsh Cup clash at Bellefield by 1-11 to 0-13, the Model County were in full experimental mode as they put out a team that is probably geared towards this year's Leinster intermediate championship.

Jim Berry was the only regular from last year's team to feature and Eanna Martin and James Tonks were the only other two who had made more than one previous appearance at this level.

Meanwhile, ten of the starting XV as well as all five substitutes were making their senior debuts for the county team.

The Model County will continue to experiment in their Walsh Shield meeting with Offaly this weekend.
